Tom Selleck Appears Somber Following Blue Bloods Cancellation: Recent Photos
Tom Selleck was recently photographed looking downcast after expressing his discontent over the cancellation of Blue Bloods. The 79-year-old actor, known for his role in Three Men and a Baby, was seen leaving a friend’s home in San Fernando Valley in early October, dressed in a casual blue shirt, black top, shorts, and sneakers.
These candid snapshots emerged after Selleck shared his feelings about the show’s end. On October 3, he told TV Insider that he felt frustration over Blue Bloods being pulled from the lineup after 14 successful seasons. “I’m kind of frustrated,” he remarked. “During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending but about the show still being wildly successful. We ranked No. 9 in the Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024 among total viewers, and if you exclude the three football shows, we’re in sixth place!”
Despite his disappointment, Selleck assured fans he wouldn’t turn bitter, commenting, “I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, ‘Get off my lawn!’”
While the reasons for Tom’s visit to his friend remain unclear, he left with an envelope full of documents, suggesting he may have had important discussions during his time there.
CBS officially announced the cancellation of Blue Bloods in May 2024. The final 14th season is set to air in two segments, with the last episodes beginning on October 18.
Selleck further conveyed his dismay when speaking to TV Insider. “I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if someone told the television network, ‘Here’s a guaranteed show that will dominate Friday nights for the next 15 years,’ it would be hard to swallow,” he said. “My frustration stems from the fact that the show was always taken for granted because it performed well from day one.”
He concluded that it would take time for him to process his feelings about Blue Bloods’ conclusion. “After the weekend of shooting the final episode, I thought, ‘I need to get to bed early because I have dialogue to prepare for Monday.’ Well, there was no Monday. It’s going to take a while to get used to that.”
