Ex-NFL sensation Eddie Lacy reportedly faced a shocking DUI arrest with a staggering blood alcohol content of .325, an amount that is more than four times the legal limit. This incident unfolded on September 30 when a concerned woman called 911 to report a vehicle matching the description of Lacy’s Audi SUV driving dangerously. The Scottsdale Police swiftly responded to the call and soon spotted Lacy, noticing immediately that something was amiss.
According to the police report, Lacy’s speech was slurred and mumbled, indicating he was in no condition to drive. Body camera footage revealed Lacy struggled with coherent responses, even after an officer acknowledged his college football fame at the University of Alabama. Despite his state, Lacy claimed he had just returned from Green Bay and was heading to his girlfriend’s place nearby. When pressed, he stated he had only consumed “a single shot” of tequila on the flight to Arizona.
Due to past injuries from his NFL career, officers could not perform standard field sobriety tests, but they did manage to administer a breathalyzer test, which revealed the alarming .325 BAC. When confronted about the legal limit in Arizona, Lacy confirmed his awareness, admitting to a previous DUI but hesitated to correctly identify the legal limit of .08.
Lacy, now 34, was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI, and court documents indicate he faces multiple charges, including one for extreme DUI, defined as a BAC of .20 or higher. His court appearance is scheduled for next month. This isn’t Lacy’s first brush with the law; in March 2022, he was accused of driving with a .247 BAC in Scottsdale.
Eddie Lacy, renowned for his achievements on the field, running the ball for the Green Bay Packers from 2013 to 2017, has amassed a total of 3,614 rushing yards over 60 games. His recent alumni appearance at Lambeau Field just days before his DUI arrest has drawn attention from fans and media alike. Lacy’s situation raises serious concerns about the dangers of impaired driving, especially given his history.
