Hoda Kotb is gearing up for her inaugural Halloween in her new suburban home, a change that brings with it fresh experiences for her family. The beloved television host recently relocated from New York City to the suburbs with her two daughters, Haley and Hope, and is diving headfirst into the festivities of the season.

During a conversation with Jenna Bush Hager on Today With Hoda & Jenna, Hoda expressed her enthusiasm for celebrating Halloween outside the bustling city. She reflected on her past trick-or-treating experiences, saying that her kids had only known the thrill of collecting candy from places like CVS and local shops. “We thought trick-or-treating meant going into a store and collecting candy from behind the counter,” she recounted.

However, life in her new suburban neighborhood is a different story, one filled with elaborate decorations and community traditions. Hoda remarked on the abundance of Halloween displays around town, noting, “All I see are giant spider webs everywhere and festive decorations.” The excitement doesn’t stop at decorations; her daughters are eagerly anticipating the town’s Halloween parade and special festivities at their school.

“It’s a whole weekend affair,” Hoda explained, detailing how some residents block off streets for celebratory block parties, followed by trick-or-treating. This marks a significant shift in lifestyle for the family, who are now fully embracing the communal spirit of suburban life.

Jenna was impressed by how beautifully Hoda has adapted to her new surroundings, especially after raising her children in an urban environment. The talk show host also hinted at plans to carve pumpkins soon, sharing how she’s even hosting gatherings at her home. Hoda couldn’t contain her excitement, saying, “I can’t believe how much we’re entertaining. We’re all about inviting people over for dinner now, something I never thought I’d be doing.”

Overall, Hoda seems to be thriving in her new environment. Just last month, she shared her experiences taking her daughters to their new school for the first time. She described a delightful morning where, coffee in hand and wearing sneakers, she walked her kids to school surrounded by other local children.

Reflecting on their move, she expressed the nurturing benefits of having more outdoor space for her girls. “After spending seven beautiful years in the city, I believe they deserve time on grass and dirt.” Hoda articulated her sense of transformation, likening this phase of her life to “repotting,” suggesting that both she and her children needed more room to grow.

In a previous broadcast, Hoda disclosed her plans to step away from her role on Today in early 2025 to focus more on her children. As Halloween approaches, it’s evident that this change has opened doors to new adventures for her family, filled with the joy of suburban traditions and community connections.
