Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright reveal their favorite baby name after actress expresses her love for it

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan have shared their favorite baby name, which the actress has openly declared her affection for. The couple, both 37, are gearing up to welcome their first child together and have a unique connection to a name favored by pop star Robbie Williams.

In a conversation held in the summer of 2020, Mark, a former star of TOWIE, interviewed Robbie Williams and inquired whether it would be acceptable for him and Michelle to use the name he and his wife, Ayda Field, had chosen for their own child. Mark recounted how Michelle first fell in love with the name after seeing a photo of Robbie’s family.

During the interview with Robbie, Mark candidly stated, “I have to ask, just in case this comes up. My wife, she’s not pregnant yet, but one day we hope to have kids. She adores the names Teddy and Theodora, particularly after seeing a picture of you all together. So, if we decide to go with Theodora or Teddy, would you be okay with that?”

Robbie, gracious as ever, assured Mark that he had no objections. In fact, he revealed that the name was inspired by another celebrity. “You know, Keith Richards has a daughter named Theodora, and I’ve always thought it’s a stunning name. So, I actually took it from Keith Richards, so don’t sweat it!” Robbie explained with a laugh. “As for Teddy, she will always be Teddy to me.”

Mark and Michelle’s journey to parenthood has been long-awaited. The couple married in 2015, and in 2019, Michelle mentioned during an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show that her mother had been nudging them toward having kids. She noted, “People constantly ask when we’re planning to start a family. I know I’m not getting any younger, and my mum definitely brings it up. No plans just yet, but we do want kids someday.”

The couple made their big announcement around the New Year, sharing an image that showcased Michelle’s baby bump and stated, “2025 is going to be a special year for us.”
