Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne Celebrate Arrival of Their Second Daughter
In an exciting announcement, Ronda Rousey and her husband Travis Browne have welcomed their second child, a baby girl. The former WWE champion shared the joyful news on January 9, expressing her gratitude on Instagram. “Our little girl came into this world during a windstorm into a city on fire, so grateful she made it safe and sound,” wrote Rousey, 37, alongside a heartwarming series of photos and video clips.
The couple has named their newborn Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha Browne, a name that honors Travis’s Hawaiian roots, as he was born Travis Kuualiialoha Browne. The proud parents are also caregivers to their first daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipo Browne, who arrived in September 2021.
In the touching video shared by Rousey, she cradles the newborn while La’akea, now three years old, looks on with curiosity at her new sister. Rousey appears radiant and content, dressed in a casual green hoodie and lounge pants, her hair in a messy bun. In an adorable moment, La’akea urges Rousey to unwrap Liko’ula from her swaddle for a closer look.
Rousey and Browne’s journey to parenthood has seen its challenges. Rousey has previously opened up about her heart-wrenching experiences with pregnancy loss, candidly discussing these events during an April 2024 appearance on “The Diary of a CEO” podcast. Rousey shared how she lost a pregnancy shortly after filming an episode of “9-1-1,” revealing the emotional weight she carried afterwards.
During the podcast, she recounted, “I found out I was pregnant just before the show started filming. Then my finger got chopped off from a door falling on it, but we got it checked out, and the baby seemed fine. Then I miscarried a couple of weeks later.” Rousey expressed feelings of culpability regarding her miscarriages, attributing her losses to her desire to participate in high-risk activities while pregnant.
After the heartbreak of losing another pregnancy, Rousey and Browne sought assistance through in vitro fertilization (IVF), undergoing four rounds that resulted in the retrieval of eight embryos as they aimed to expand their family. Rousey reflected on their journey, stating, “The first one was a success,” leading to the birth of La’akea. However, she also disclosed that their attempts for another child had their setbacks, including a failed IVF cycle.
“It’s tough for anyone going through it,” Rousey shared through tears, highlighting the emotional struggle and hopes that accompany the journey to parenthood. The couple is now embracing the joy of their new addition while looking forward to the adventure of raising two daughters together.
This remarkable moment in Rousey and Browne’s life shines a bright light on the complexities and joys of family life, as well as the strength it takes to navigate the ups and downs of parenthood.
