Meghan Markle’s Dad Plans Move to Asia, Fears Missing Grandkids

Meghan Markle’s Father Thomas Markle Plans Move to Asia, Fears Grandkids Will Never Meet Him

In a surprising turn of events, Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Duchess Meghan Markle, has revealed his intention to leave the United States. The former lighting director is considering a move to Southeast Asia, expressing his concern that he may never meet his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

At 80 years old, Thomas Markle has called his cliffside property in Mexico home for the past decade. However, after suffering two heart attacks and a stroke in recent years, he feels it is time for a “fresh start.” He stated that his decision to relocate is driven by a desire to find “peace” and to surround himself with “kinder people.”

During a recent interview, Thomas expressed his readiness for change, saying, “I have felt stuck in a rut for some time, and I am ready to meet new people and experience kindness.” He has not renewed the lease on his Mexican home and plans to travel and explore options with his son, Tom Jr., Meghan’s half-brother. He added, “I don’t know where I’ll end up, but it is time to move on and find a place where I can live among kind people and enjoy the time I have left.”

While Thomas clarified that his move is not a retreat from Meghan or Prince Harry, he hopes to find a quieter lifestyle. He reminisced about his travels in that region when he was younger, recalling that the locals are kind and respectful, particularly towards older individuals.

Accepting the reality of his situation, Thomas admitted that he has resigned himself to the likelihood that he won’t meet Archie or Lilibet. He emphasized that he is not fleeing but is instead searching for a positive change in his life. “Every day, I see something about Meghan,” he noted, mentioning her new Netflix lifestyle show. “I wish her no ill will. My dream is that one day I could bring my whole family together, like a ‘normal’ family.”

In his remarks to the media, Thomas highlighted that returning to the United States was unlikely, citing his disappointment with the country’s politics. “At 80, it is time to go somewhere where the people are lovely, and I can enjoy a quieter, friendlier existence,” he stated. He also mentioned the benefits of living in Southeast Asia, such as good medical care, affordability, and healthy food options.

With a heart full of hope for a tranquil future, he concluded, “I want whatever time I have to be peaceful and free from the awful drama of recent years.”
