Hoda Kotb has officially signed a new contract with NBC, stepping into fresh opportunities following her emotional farewell from the Today show after an impressive 17-year journey. On January 10, she revealed that her new role would be reminiscent of Snoop Dogg’s current involvement with the network, where he serves as a special correspondent and an unofficial mascot for Team USA during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In an interview, Hoda, now 60, shared that her last week on Today has been filled with tears, yet she remains optimistic about the future. “I’ve been keeping a bottle of Gatorade by my bed,” she remarked, adding that the emotional weight of the past week took its toll. Despite the bittersweet transition, Hoda’s next chapter at NBC looks promising, as she will be present for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, likely taking on roles as a correspondent or commentator during these major sporting events.

Craig Melvin is set to fill the morning slot on Today that Hoda vacated. Sources close to the show suggest that while Melvin acknowledges he cannot replicate Hoda’s unique presence, he is well-received among the cast and crew, making him a fitting choice. Hoda described her upcoming position as a more supportive role within a pre-existing team at NBC, indicating she would not completely disappear from the show’s landscape.

Fans can look forward to her periodic appearances on Today, with Hoda suggesting she might make guest spots every four to six weeks. Additionally, she will continue to host her “Making Space” podcast, ensuring her connection with listeners remains strong.

Aside from her television roles, Hoda is excited about venturing into the wellness industry. She recently announced plans to launch a wellness app and company focused on retreats and a podcast. Hoda described this new project as a transformative experience, emphasizing her desire to help others lead fulfilling lives.

Reflecting on her journey and the support she’s received, Hoda expressed gratitude, stating, “I’ve been given way more than I deserve, so now it’s about giving back, mentoring, and making a difference in others’ lives.” The wellness initiative is still in development, with an anticipated launch set for spring 2025. This marks a new era for Hoda Kotb, combining her passion for wellness with a legacy in broadcasting that continues to evolve.
