In his announcement, Jones wrote, “It is with immense sadness that we inform you of the loss of our beloved James Lee Williams, known to many as The Vivienne. James was a deeply loved individual, and their family is heartbroken over the passing of their son, brother, and uncle. They take pride in everything James accomplished during their remarkable journey.”

 

Jones, who managed The Vivienne’s career, also offered a personal tribute. He reminisced about their first meeting in 2019 and how he recognized their incredible talent and charm. “No one has ever made me laugh as much as Viv did,” he shared, highlighting their unique ability to light up any space they entered.

 

The Vivienne’s contributions to the entertainment scene were vast. Born in 1992 in Colwyn Bay, Wales, they achieved fame not only as a drag performer but also as a musician and actor. In 2015, The Vivienne earned distinction as the “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Ambassador” and later showcased their talents in various reality shows. Their 2022 debut EP titled “B—-” and a role as the Wicked Witch of the West in a West End production of The Wizard of Oz in 2023 further exemplified their multifaceted abilities. The Vivienne also impressed audiences as a finalist on the reality competition Dancing On Ice in 2023.
