Jamie Borthwick, a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, and his partner Michelle Tsiakkas are facing challenges ahead of their second live performance. The duo is scheduled to perform a rumba to Bill Withers’ classic “Ain’t No Sunshine,” but a body language expert has raised concerns about their chemistry.
Darren Stanton, representing Betfair Casino, expressed doubts about the pair’s connection, suggesting that Jamie’s humor and sarcasm might be masking his nerves. He noted, “There seems to be a layer of bravado, which could stem from Jamie’s acting background. However, this may impact his willingness to fully engage in the process, reflecting on their dynamic and body language.”
Despite Jamie previously describing his bond with Michelle as “instant,” Stanton believes their lack of tactile interaction and synchronization could lead to them landing in the bottom two when the results come in. This concern comes despite Jamie’s previous success in the 2023 Christmas special, where he showcased his dancing skills alongside Nancy Xu.
Stanton also speculated that Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones might join Jamie and Michelle in the bottom two. He remarked on Toyah’s performance, stating, “She’s one of the weaker contestants this season. Despite her vibrant personality, the competition is quite fierce. The connection between her and Neil lacks strength, which ultimately hampers their overall display.”
With the competition heating up, the stakes are high for Jamie and Michelle. Fans can catch all the action and find out the results tonight at 6.15 PM on BBC One.
