Suits star Sarah Rafferty is eager to welcome Meghan Markle onto her newly launched rewatch podcast. Rafferty, who played Donna Paulson on the beloved USA Network series, co-hosts “Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast” with her former co-star Patrick J. Adams. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rafferty expressed her excitement about the possibility of Markle joining the show’s reunion, saying, “Everybody’s invited, and everybody has been so supportive.”
The podcast kicked off its first episodes on September 24, and Rafferty is already in touch with various cast and crew members about participating. “It’s amazing. I’ve just been texting one of our directors, Mike Smith. Rachael Harris had some comments on our Instagram Live this morning; I cannot wait for Sheila Sazs to be introduced into the show,” she shared.
While the first two episodes have focused on Rafferty and Adams reminiscing about their time on Suits, they are also planning to feature interviews with other cast members. Early guests include Gina Torres, who portrayed Jessica Pearson, and showrunner Aaron Korsh. Eventually, Markle, who is now known as the Duchess of Sussex, has become a recurring topic of discussion among the hosts. In a previous episode, Adams reminisced about their immediate chemistry during their initial audition, noting, “From the moment we did the chemistry read together, it was clear she was going to get the part of Rachel Zane.”
Suits, which aired for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019, has seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to its addition to Netflix, attracting a new wave of fans. As the podcast continues to explore the show’s legacy, Rafferty and Adams aim to shed light on not only their experiences but also the enduring friendships formed on set.
During their time on Suits, Rafferty and Adams maintained a close relationship off-screen, with him consistently showing support for Markle in the years that followed. The pair’s storylines culminated in a wedding at the end of season 7, after which both departed from the show. Suits has stood the test of time, remaining in the cultural conversation, and a spinoff titled Suits: L.A. is set to premiere in early 2025, starring Stephen Amell as Ted Black.
In an era dominated by reboots and sequels, the combination of nostalgia and engaging storytelling found in Suits continues to resonate, proving that even after its conclusion, the bonds formed within the cast are stronger than ever.
