Pete Davidson ‘Secretly Returns to Rehab’ After Devastating Break-Up and Struggles with Cannabis: ‘He Took the Split Really Hard’

Pete Davidson has reportedly checked into rehab again following a tough break-up with Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline.

Sydtomarket.net has learned that the comedian, feeling on the edge of a nervous breakdown, admitted himself to a psychiatric facility in a bid to get sober. According to sources, Davidson, 30, has been exhibiting increasingly erratic behavior since the split in July.

One insider revealed, “Pete took the break-up very hard. For a brief moment, he may have thought she was the one. They had a strong connection and a lot in common.”

Davidson, who has a long history of substance abuse, including a daily ketamine habit he once admitted to, has been to rehab at least seven times, with his most recent stint ending last September.

Diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder—stemming from his father’s death in the September 11 terrorist attacks when Davidson was just seven years old—the Saturday Night Live alum has been open about his struggles with mental health. He previously shared, “I’m always depressed. I have to constantly bring myself out of it. My rock bottom is when people are scared for my life, and I have to go away, and then I have to bring myself up again.”

During his Pete Davidson: Rehab Tour in Atlantic City, the comedian confessed to struggling with his cannabis habit, joking, “I did coke and ketamine and all the pills. All I have left is weed, so it’s almost over, but I’m holding on for a little bit longer.”

Following his latest breakdown, sources close to Davidson are urging him to leave Hollywood behind and return to his roots in Staten Island, with one insider saying, “Pete should move in with his mom and not look back. Life in the Hollywood fast lane continues to chew him up and spit him out, and it’s not healthy for someone with Pete’s issues.”

Davidson’s relationships, including his high-profile romance with Kim Kardashian, have reportedly taken a toll on him. Insiders claim he felt particularly used by Kardashian, who, according to those close to him, saw their relationship as a way to rebound from her ex-husband Kanye West.
