Willie Nelson Hosts Virtual Cannabis Event to Support Kamala Harris

In a bold move on the campaign trail, Willie Nelson has announced he’s organizing a cannabis community Zoom call to rally support for Kamala Harris. The iconic singer-songwriter made the revelation over the weekend from his Luck Ranch in Texas, emphasizing the healing potential of cannabis. Nelson stated that political leaders like Harris recognize the critical need to abolish the federal prohibition on marijuana and address the history of harsh penalties for possession.

Nelson has had his own run-ins with the law regarding cannabis, having been arrested multiple times for minor possession. This upcoming virtual gathering promises to be a star-studded affair, featuring well-known figures such as Whoopi Goldberg, Brittney Spencer, Margo Price, and Colorado Governor Jared Polis—all weighing in on a hot-button issue.

Recently, the Vice President reaffirmed her commitment to fully legalizing marijuana, highlighting the need for Black men, who have faced disproportionate incarceration rates due to drug laws, to benefit from the evolving marijuana industry. However, industry experts remain cautious about the feasibility of these promises, given that any legislative changes will require Congressional backing.

Nonetheless, it appears that Willie supports Kamala’s vision, and he, alongside his notable guests, plans to advocate for the Democratic candidate during this upcoming event.
