Amy Dowden Appears on It Takes Two, Shares She’s ‘Doing Much Better’

Strictly star Amy Dowden recently made a notable appearance on It Takes Two, sharing an uplifting update about her health following a brief hospitalization. The professional dancer, who is 34 years old, was taken to the hospital after experiencing illness backstage during last weekend’s live show. For this Saturday’s performance, fellow dancer Lauren Oakley will be stepping in to partner with JB Gill.

During her segment on It Takes Two, which aired on November 1, Amy expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received. “I’m feeling so much better and I want to thank everyone for the love and support I’ve received. Feeling much better, thank you,” she stated.

JB Gill, discussing his upcoming routine with Lauren, remarked on the unique experience of rehearsing with her, highlighting that their couple’s choice routine was created by an external choreographer, which provided both dancers a fresh start. Lauren, enthusiastic about the collaboration, mentioned, “So we both came in on Monday on a level playing field. We were both learning the routine.”

JB described his time training with Lauren as “surreal,” saying he was accustomed to working closely with Amy. He praised Lauren’s talent, calling her “lovely” and “an incredible dancer.” Amy expressed her appreciation for Lauren’s willingness to step in, mentioning that she feels proud of JB and has remained updated on their rehearsals.

Fans watching It Takes Two were thrilled to see Amy looking healthy and vibrant. Comments flooded in on social media with viewers expressing their joy: one fan wrote, “Great to see Amy looking much better,” while another noted, “Ah what a lovely surprise seeing you on It Takes Two tonight. Hope you’re doing well.” A third viewer chimed in, “Glad to see Amy doing well; she will be missed this weekend.”
