Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2024: Performers, New Balloons, and More Revealed
As November rolls in, so does the anticipation for one of America’s most beloved traditions—the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year marks the milestone of the parade’s 100th anniversary, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a lineup that boasts 17 new balloons and floats, 11 marching bands, and 24 diverse performers from icons like The Temptations to social media sensation Charli D’Amelio.
Set for November 28, the parade will kick off at 8:30 a.m. ET, starting from 77th Street and Central Park West, making its way downtown to Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square. Viewers can catch all the excitement on NBC or stream it live on Peacock.
This year’s celebration will feature an impressive roster of performers. The legendary Motown group The Temptations will dazzle on the Wondership by Wonder float, while Ariana Madix from Vanderpump Rules will join the fun on the Birds of a Feather Stream Together float by Peacock. Hip-hop enthusiasts will be thrilled to see T-Pain on the Big Turkey Spectacular float courtesy of Jennie-O, and Broadway star Idina Menzel will grace the Wondrous World of Wildlife float, brought to you by the Bronx Zoo. Plus, the parade will feature the 2024 WNBA Champion New York Liberty alongside their mascot, Ellie the Elephant, on the Gift of Freedom float.
A host of additional performers will also take the stage, including Alex Warren, Bishop Briggs, Chlöe, Coco Jones, Dan + Shay, Jimmy Fallon & The Roots, and many more. This annual event has established itself as a cherished part of Thanksgiving Day traditions, known for its extravagant balloon creations and lively musical acts.
Speaking of balloons, 2024 will introduce a total of 17 new additions, featuring fan favorites like Spiderman and even a balloon debut for Minnie Mouse. This five-story tall balloon will be a sight to behold, as hefty as five taxis lined up in a row! One of the most unique floats this year is titled Pasta Knight, presented by Rao’s Homemade, boasting armor crafted from various types of pasta, such as orecchiette and penne.
In addition to the musical performances and vibrant balloons, high school and college marching bands will add a nostalgic touch this Thanksgiving. The parade will feature bands from South Carolina, East Tennessee State, and UMass, along with notable high school bands like the Sioux Falls Lincoln High School “Patriot” Marching Band, which is returning after a long hiatus, and the Majestic Marching Cardinals of Jonesboro High School.
As excitement builds for what promises to be a memorable Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, stay tuned for the full list of performers, floats, and balloons being unveiled as we approach the spectacular day of festivities.
