Garth Brooks Considering Relocation to Ireland Amid Sexual Assault Allegations
Garth Brooks is reportedly contemplating a move from Nashville to Ireland following allegations of sexual assault made against him by a former makeup artist. During a recent episode of his Facebook Live show, Inside Studio G, the 62-year-old country music star hinted at the possibility of leaving the U.S. for good. The discussion was sparked by a fan’s inquiry about his rumored intention to buy a property in the Emerald Isle.
Brooks mentioned that his wife, fellow country artist Trisha Yearwood, is strongly advocating for the relocation. He stated, “Actually, the Queen is pushing hard for that house over there. I think this last time over there, she just fell head over heels in love with the country.” He referenced their recent trip to Ireland, during which they performed two weekends of concerts and received a warm welcome from fans.
The singer has garnered significant support in Ireland, illustrated by the enthusiastic response to his 2022 concerts at Croke Park, which expanded from two nights to five sold-out shows due to overwhelming demand.
The potential move comes at a challenging time for Brooks, who is currently navigating legal troubles in the United States. A civil lawsuit filed in October in California includes serious accusations of sexual assault and battery. The plaintiff, identified as “Jane Roe,” claims to have worked with Brooks as a makeup artist and alleges that incidents of assault date back to 2017.
According to the lawsuit, Roe contends that during a Grammy event in Los Angeles, Brooks provided only one hotel suite for both of them. When she requested separate accommodations, he allegedly refused. The suit claims that Brooks assaulted her in a hotel room and made unwanted sexual advances, despite her discomfort.
Brooks has categorically denied these accusations, describing them as an attempt at extortion. He articulated, “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money.”
As the situation evolves, all eyes will be on Brooks and whether he will take the plunge to settle in Ireland amidst these serious allegations.
