Fans Worried After Rihanna Comments on Shifting Focus from Music

Rihanna’s Fans Express Concern Over Ambiguous Music Statement

Fans of Rihanna are buzzing with worry after she made a cryptic remark regarding her music career. The 36-year-old “Umbrella” singer has been relatively quiet on the music front since her last album, ANTI, which was released almost a decade ago. Instead, she’s been focused on her successful ventures in the beauty and fashion industry, including Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage x Fenty.

During an event in Barbados promoting her makeup brand, Rihanna spoke about her transition from music to business. She mentioned, “Obviously, music was the thing that got the attention, but God had other plans for me. And I was able to create in ways that were sincere, genuine, organic, and authentic to the things that I loved.” She elaborated on this by saying it doesn’t even feel like a job.

Referencing her roots, Rihanna expressed her gratitude, stating, “Coming back home, where the first place I ever met beauty, acknowledged beauty, was at my home here in Barbados. You guys have always inspired me. Everything about my brand, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, has been inspired by you and this country, my people, my family, my friends, my opps, I love all of you guys.”

A segment of her speech was highlighted on social media, leading many fans to speculate about her potential departure from music. One user tweeted, “The navy need to accept already the fact that she’s not a singer anymore, she’s a business woman who WAS a singer.” Another commented bluntly, “She tryna tell yall that she not releasing any music baby.”

Critics took to Twitter, with one user asserting, “Rihanna never loved music, yall got to understand it. It was her job. She did it, sacrificed years, made her bag, left and moved on, as most of us would do with a job we don’t actually like.” Another laid out what they believed were “other plans” that Rihanna referred to in her speech: Fenty, Savage, Tidal, Dior, and motherhood.

The reactions from fans ranged from acceptance of her shift in focus to anxiety about the prospect of no new music. One fan lamented, “I’m sorry, but my heart can’t take this no more. Just say u won’t drop the album.”

Despite the rising speculation, there are still those holding out hope. Rihanna had previously stated that she was rediscovering her approach to music, mentioning she had been working on her new album for an extended period but was now ready to return to the studio. “Yeah, I’m starting over,” she said. “But I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.”

As fans navigate this uncertainty, the future of Rihanna’s music career remains a topic of heated discussion, with many hoping for her return to the studio.
