SZA Expresses Regret Over Cosmetic Surgery Decision: ‘It Was Just So Foolish’

In a candid interview with British Vogue, SZA, born Solána Imani Rowe, opened up about her regrets surrounding her decision to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). The 35-year-old singer shared her feelings of frustration about the cosmetic procedure, revealing, “I’m so mad I did that. I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat. It was just so stupid.”

Despite her regret, SZA is trying to take away a positive lesson from the experience. “Who cares? You do something like a BBL and you realize you didn’t need it. It doesn’t really matter. I’ll likely do even more things like this before I leave this earth because this body is temporary. It just wasn’t really necessary,” she explained.

SZA has had a history of being open about her body enhancements. She previously revealed in an ELLE interview that she opted for the BBL to achieve her desired physique with less effort in the gym. She described her buttocks as an accessory: “I treat my butt like a purse. It’s just there to enhance whatever else.”

In addition to discussing her BBL, SZA has also talked about her journey with breast implants on the “SHE MD” podcast. She shared details about her family history of breast cancer, which prompted her to remove the implants she had gotten after experiencing complications. SZA noted that having a high risk for breast cancer made her reconsider her decision due to painful side effects and scar tissue.

The singer spoke candidly about her procedure decisions, indicating that she was driven by her own perceptions rather than external pressures from the industry. Ultimately, SZA’s reflections serve as a reminder about the complex relationship many have with body image and cosmetic surgery.
