Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2.

In the gripping finale of the second part of Season 6, viewers witnessed a devastating twist in the heated Sekai Taikai brawl. After a fierce confrontation between Kwon Jae-Sung, portrayed by Brandon H. Lee, and Axel Kovacevic, played by Patrick Luwis, the intense showdown culminated in Axel tragically falling on a knife, leading to his untimely death.

Hannah-Kim noted that this scene marked a significant turning point for both the audience and the cast. She expressed her sadness over the narrative decision, emphasizing the emotional connection the cast had with Brandon. “Losing him was deeply emotional. It made the stakes feel so real. In a show filled with fight scenes, this death felt like irreparable damage,” she expressed. “It was just so shocking.”

As for Sensei Kim, Hannah-Kim believes that Kwon’s death will serve as a moment of reflection and growth for her character. “It’s a harsh reality check. Kim does truly care for her students, even the tough ones like Kwon,” she explained. “Experiencing such a loss will be devastating for her. I anticipate it will lead her to make some bold choices moving forward.”

Throughout Season 6, viewers have encountered a softer side of Kim as her dynamic with Miyagi-Do master Chozen, portrayed by Yuji Okumoto, unfolds. The actress revealed her surprise when informed by the showrunners about her character’s romantic involvement. “I was shocked! My jaw literally hit the floor,” recalled Hannah-Kim, laughing at the unexpected development. “Walking onto the set was a bit awkward because I wasn’t used to that kind of scene!”

She humorously recounted the moment before their passionate on-screen kiss, where both she and Okumoto were nervously preparing. “We were both trying to get gum in our mouths since we’re both married. I jokingly told him, ‘I haven’t kissed another man in so long, get ready!’”

The fate of their relationship remains in question as fans eagerly await part 3, set to release on February 13, 2025. Hannah-Kim hinted that the pair share a lot in common, suggesting potential future developments.

Cobra Kai is renowned for creating complex characters capable of redemption, offering not just conflict but also moments of levity and deep connection. “The series brilliantly blends seriousness with elements of love and humor,” she remarked. “There may be a gradual softening of Kim—who knows what’s next!”

As Season 6 parts 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Netflix, viewers are left anticipating the coming chapters of this saga.
