Операторы связи получат льготные кредиты на оборудование

Telecom operators are on the brink of benefiting from a new support measure—subsidized loans aimed at acquiring domestic equipment for communication networks and launching 5G technology. This initiative is part of the federal project “Infrastructure for Internet Access,” which falls under the larger national project “Data Economy.” Industry insiders have confirmed to sources that the plan is actively discussed among market players and regulatory bodies.

The favorable loan conditions are expected to apply specifically to the acquisition of equipment necessary for establishing 5G networks in major cities with over a million residents. Additionally, operators may secure loans for purchasing Russian-made equipment for backbone communication lines, ensuring fixed broadband access at a minimum speed of 1 Gbps for apartment buildings in cities with populations ranging from 100,000 to 1 million.

Details regarding the exact interest rates for these loans have yet to be disclosed. With the Central Bank recently raising the key rate to 21% per annum, the urgency for more accessible lending conditions has intensified. Telecom companies are ready to embrace any terms that would lower the current borrowing costs, signaling a strong interest in boosting infrastructure development to enhance connectivity across the country.
