Nikki Bella Confirms Breakup Rumors, Files for Divorce Following Artem Chigvintsev’s Arrest on Domestic Violence Charges

Nikki Bella has officially ended her turbulent marriage to Artem Chigvintsev.

Their volatile relationship reached a breaking point late last month when Chigvintsev, 42, was charged with causing bodily harm to Bella during a heated argument at their Napa Valley home.

Two days after his August 29 arrest, the 40-year-old reality star was seen boarding a private plane in Oakland without her wedding ring. According to TMZ, Bella began searching for a divorce attorney shortly after the arrest and ultimately filed for divorce on Wednesday. She has reportedly retained Evan Craig Itzkowitz to represent her. It remains unclear whether the couple had a prenuptial agreement.

Chigvintsev was released the same day of his arrest after posting a $25,000 bond. Following the incident, he stayed with a friend while Bella remained at home with their 4-year-old son, Matteo.

The pair met on *Dancing With the Stars* and started dating in 2019 after Bella’s highly publicized breakup with John Cena. Chigvintsev proposed in November 2019, and they welcomed their son in July 2020. However, Bella was open about the postpartum struggles that strained their relationship.

Despite their challenges, including Bella admitting that she had moments of resentment toward Chigvintsev, the couple sought counseling and appeared to have strengthened their bond. In August 2022, they announced they had tied the knot in Paris.
