Andrew Garfield is stirring the pot with some candid revelations about filming his upcoming romantic drama, We Live in Time, where he shares the screen with the talented Florence Pugh. The 41-year-old actor opened up about an unforgettable moment on set during a particularly steamy scene, confessing that he and Florence were so immersed in their performance that they didn’t even catch the director’s cue to stop.
In this new A24 film, their characters, Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield), cross paths in a surprising twist that irreversibly alters the course of their lives. As they navigate the complexities of time, they come to realize the significance of savoring every fleeting moment in their unconventional love story.
What transpired during the filming? Let’s dive in. Chatting on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz, Andrew shared that Florence’s confidence in her body and sexuality often left him in awe. He recounted how during one particularly intimate sex scene, the emotions ran high, leading them to push past their original boundaries.
“We choreographed it to be passionate, and as we lost ourselves in the moment, we didn’t hear ‘cut’,” he explained. “It felt safe, and we thought, ‘Let’s just keep going.’ At one point, both of us sensed, ‘This must be a really long take.’”
To his surprise, when Andrew glanced up, he realized the cameraman had completely disengaged from filming. “I looked over and saw Stuart, our cinematographer, with his camera down, turned away from us,” Andrew recalled.
The trailer for We Live in Time is generating buzz as the film prepares to hit theaters on October 11. This latest revelation adds an intriguing layer to the off-screen dynamics between two of Hollywood’s rising stars, making fans even more eager for the movie’s release.
