Another Harsh Development in Hollywood’s Most Bitter Divorce: Actress Alice Evans Reveals Items She’s Had to Pawn as Feud with Ex Escalates

Alice Evans is reportedly facing severe financial difficulties amid her ongoing divorce from Ioan Gruffudd, leading her to pawn cherished items.

The 56-year-old actress disclosed that she had to pawn two watches to cover her rent for August, according to RadarOnline.com. She also expressed uncertainty about how she will manage September’s rent, accusing Gruffudd of “ignoring” her requests for financial support as she cares for their two daughters, Ella, 14, and Elsie, 10.

Despite Evans’ repeated claims of financial hardship during the divorce, Gruffudd has disputed her assertions, accusing her of presenting a “false narrative” and misrepresenting her income. The Fantastic Four star, 50, stated that he earns $14,000 per month and that Evans should be receiving $2,903 per month in child support. He has also claimed that Evans is overspending, with monthly expenses totaling $15,800.

Gruffudd further criticized Evans for starting a GoFundMe campaign while allegedly having $86,000 in two bank accounts. Evans countered, explaining that she has substantial legal fees and urgent expenses, including utility bills, rent, and her daughters’ nanny, which she has had to cover without Gruffudd’s assistance.

Gruffudd alleged that Evans had sufficient funds to cover June’s rent, though Evans insisted she was late with May’s rent. The dispute has intensified, with Gruffudd’s friends defending him against Evans’ “unfounded” claims. They assert that Gruffudd has overpaid in support and that Evans’ behavior is damaging and excessive.

In July, Evans claimed financial distress due to Gruffudd’s failure to pay spousal and child support since April, a claim Gruffudd denies. Evans had also applied for public assistance earlier this year while awaiting a hearing on maintenance payments.

The ongoing conflict has even drawn in Gruffudd’s acquaintances, who describe Evans as vengeful and accuse her of trying to harm Gruffudd’s reputation. They argue that Gruffudd has been more than generous with support and express concern that the situation is becoming increasingly distressing and cruel.
