Daisy May Cooper Cries on Loose Women While Remembering Late Best Friend
In an emotional appearance on Loose Women, comedian and television personality Daisy May Cooper opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her best friend, Michael Sleggs. The broadcast, which aired on October 23, 2024, saw Daisy promoting her new book, Hexy B***h, which dives into her encounters with the paranormal.
Daisy shared how her fascination with the mystical began during her childhood, following the tragic passing of her aunt in a car accident at the tender age of 30. “It was her need for reassurance that her sister was not lost forever,” Daisy explained. Growing up, she often found herself exploring dubious psychic practices, propelled by her family’s lingering grief.
During the conversation, host Ruth Langsford mentioned Daisy’s profound loss of Michael Sleggs, her co-star from This Country. Daisy recounted a poignant moment during Michael’s struggle with cancer. “He called me, sharing that he wasn’t scared anymore because an angelic presence had told him he would be free of pain within a week,” she said. “He passed away just seven days later, which I find remarkable.”
As the discussion progressed, Daisy revealed an extraordinary sign she received from Michael after his passing. Although initially skeptical, she recalled a festival that Michael had always wanted to attend. One morning while resting with her partner, they suddenly heard an inexplicable banging on their bedroom door. “We both jumped, thinking it couldn’t possibly be the cat,” Daisy said, noting that despite having cameras, nothing was there. Coincidentally, it was the very day of the Phoenix Festival.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Daisy couldn’t help but tear up, concluding, “That has to be him reaching out to me.”
Michael Sleggs lost his battle with cancer in 2019 at the age of 33. Daisy’s heartfelt tribute illustrates not just the pain of loss but her belief in the signs from beloved ones who have passed. Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30 PM on ITV1 and ITVX.
