Eddie Lacy Arrested for DUI with .325 BAC, Police Report Says

Former NFL running back Eddie Lacy is in hot water after reportedly being arrested for DUI with an astonishing blood alcohol content of .325, which is more than four times the legal limit. The incident took place on September 30 when a concerned citizen called 911, anxiously relaying that a vehicle matching the description of Lacy’s Audi SUV was being driven dangerously.

Officers from the Scottsdale Police Department responded promptly and shortly after the 911 call, they pulled over Lacy. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers immediately observed signs that something was amiss. According to the police report, Lacy’s speech was noticeably slow and slurred, raising red flags for the officers right from the start.

Body camera footage captured Lacy struggling to communicate and form coherent sentences, even after an officer mentioned recognizing him from his time playing for Alabama. During the encounter, Lacy mentioned he had just returned from Green Bay and was en route to his girlfriend’s house, which he claimed was just a short distance away. However, when pressed further, he admitted to drinking during his flight into Arizona, stating he consumed only “a single shot” of tequila.

Despite being unable to complete numerous field sobriety checks due to injuries suffered during his NFL career, Lacy did manage to take a breathalyzer test, which returned the staggering .325 reading. When questioned about Arizona’s legal BAC limit, he acknowledged his awareness, even admitting to a previous DUI conviction, yet could not confirm that .08 was the correct legal limit.

Consequently, Lacy, 34, was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including extreme DUI due to his extremely high BAC. He is set to appear in court for a hearing next month. This incident marks a continuation of Lacy’s troubled history with DUI arrests; back in March 2022, he was accused of operating a vehicle with a BAC of .247.

Lacy’s football career saw him accumulate over 3,600 rushing yards while playing in the NFL from 2013 to 2017. His recent alumni appearance at Lambeau Field, just days prior to his arrest, added another layer of irony to this troubling situation. The 34-year-old is now facing serious consequences, as he grapples with the fallout from this alarming incident.
