Familiar Faces: The Cast of Slow Horses You May Recognize

If you haven’t started watching “Slow Horses” on Apple TV+, now’s the time to dive in. This gripping espionage drama, laced with dark humor, revolves around a group of British spies working in MI5’s off-the-books department known as Slough House, created for agents whose career paths have hit a dead end.

 

The show features an impressive cast, kicking off with Gary Oldman in the role of Jackson Lamb, a sharp yet reclusive leader of the unit. Oldman is no stranger to iconic roles, previously captivating audiences as Sirius Black in the “Harry Potter” franchise and earning accolades for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour.”

 

Playing River Cartwright, we have Jack Lowden. His character finds himself embroiled in a conspiracy involving his grandfather, portrayed by Jonathan Pryce. Fans might recognize Pryce from his roles in “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” and the fantasy epic “Game of Thrones.”

Hugo Weaving steps into the shoes of Frank Harkness, a former CIA agent and a prominent antagonist in the latest season. Weaving is best known for his work in “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” and the iconic “Matrix” series.

 

Rosalind Eleazar plays Louisa Guy, who is part of the Slough House team, while Saskia Reeves takes on the role of Catherine Standish, the unit’s former secretary. Fans may recall Reeves from the “Dune” miniseries and “Luther.”

 

Aimee-Ffion Edwards portrays Shirley Dander, another Slough House operative, with credits including the “Four Weddings and a Funeral” series and “Peaky Blinders.” Kadiff Kirwan is seen as Marcus Longridge, and viewers might recognize him from “Chewing Gum.”

 

Christopher Chung plays Roddy Ho, another member of the team, previously seen in “Neighbors” and “Waterloo Road.” Joanna Scanlan joins as Moira Tregorian, the newly appointed secretary. You might have seen her in “Wicked Little Letters” or “Getting On.”

 

Tom Brooke is introduced as J.K. Coe, a fresh face in Slough House, remembered for “Pirate Radio” and “Preacher.” Ruth Bradley is cast as Emma Flyte, leading the Dogs team, with credits in “Ted Lasso” and “Guilt.” Lastly, James Callis plays Claude Whelan, the new First Desk at MI5, recognizable from “Bridget Jones’s Diary.”
