Sources reveal that the Royal family, including King Charles, are apprehensive about engaging in conversations with Harry due to concerns that such interactions could be used as material for his forthcoming memoir, “Spare Volume Two.” This fear of potential public revelations has led to questions about how trust can be rebuilt. Some insiders doubt that rebuilding this trust is feasible, although the King’s capacity to forgive remains intact. However, other members of the Royal family hold more negative views towards Harry, which complicates the situation.

The situation was further strained by Charles III’s decision to evict Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage in June 2023. This move, seen by some as a deliberate attempt to prevent Harry from easily returning to the UK, has added to the tensions.

Prince William and Kate are reportedly not considering any form of reconciliation with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex unless they receive an apology. Despite the Sussexes’ active schedule, which includes new Netflix projects, Meghan’s brand launch, and various public appearances, their ongoing media presence has been a point of contention among British royal courtiers. They reportedly find the constant media exposure created by the Sussexes overwhelming and chaotic.

Paul Burrell, a former royal butler to Princess Diana, noted that William is keeping his family distanced from Harry and Meghan. He described Harry as “background noise” due to the negative content in “Spare,” which included personal jabs at William, such as remarks about his “bald head” and accusations of assault in 2019.

Burrell further elaborated that William’s current stance likely reflects a desire to avoid any additional discord within his family, suggesting that the door for Harry and Meghan’s return to a closer relationship remains firmly shut. The ongoing rift appears to be deeply entrenched, with little indication that reconciliation is on the horizon.
