Hoda Kotb Unveils Exciting New Venture Following Departure from Today Show

In a surprising turn of events, Hoda Kotb has announced her exit from the Today show, but she isn’t stepping away from the limelight. Instead, the beloved broadcaster is gearing up for an exciting new project that focuses on wellness. Speaking to People, Kotb, 60, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I have something that I am super excited about that’s in its infancy. It’s a whole wellness situation, and I got lit up by that just from stuff I’ve been working on and doing on myself.”

The popular television host shared that her journey into wellness has been inspired by her connections with friends, including Jenna Bush Hager and Maria Shriver. “I’ve learned to do a bunch of different things with breath work and whatnot,” she revealed. Kotb is in the preliminary stages of developing a wellness app and organizing retreats, which she believes will be both fun and beneficial.

Reflecting on her foray into wellness, Hoda remarked, “When I learned some of these things, I was like, ‘Wait, why do I feel like my baseline feels less stressed? Why do I feel this way?’” She is keen to explore this new path further, saying, “It is something that I’m excited about exploring and seeing what’s out there.”

This revelation comes just weeks after she made the emotional decision to leave her long-term role at the Today show. In a heartfelt message to her colleagues, Kotb expressed a mix of sadness and excitement, acknowledging that while it was a difficult choice, it was the right one. “They say two things can be right at the same time, and I’m feeling that so deeply right now,” she wrote, underscoring her love for her colleagues and the significance of the journey they shared.

Having spent 26 years at NBC, including ten years at Dateline and 16 on the 10 o’clock hour, Hoda reflected on her career with fondness, stating, “My time at NBC has been the longest professional love affair of my life.” She emphasized the impact her colleagues have had on her life and career, recognizing the deep connections formed over the years.

Fans of Hoda will not have to say goodbye just yet, as her official departure from the Today show is set for January 2025. Until then, she promises to embrace this new chapter wholeheartedly, channeling her energy into her wellness initiatives while cherishing the memories and friendships built during her time in broadcasting.
