Jessica Simpson Shares Current Relationship Status with Ex Eric Johnson After Split

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson Relationship Update

Jessica Simpson is turning a new leaf. As she prepares to release her latest single “Use My Heart Against Me” from her anticipated EP Nashville Canyon, Part 1, she opened up about her current relationship with Eric Johnson following their recent separation.

After a decade-long marriage, Jessica revealed earlier this year that the couple had been “living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage.” The pair, who began dating in 2010 and tied the knot four years later, share three children: Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 12, Ace Knute, 11, and Birdie Mae, 5.

In a heartfelt statement, Jessica emphasized the importance of their children: “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support we’ve received and ask for privacy as we work through this as a family.”

Jessica recently shared how her musical journey in Nashville has played a crucial role in helping her come to terms with the separation and rediscover her artistic voice. “I’ve grown up so much. I can handle so much,” she noted, reflecting on her personal growth. “Maybe I’m just meant to love a lot of people in my life.”

Despite the challenges, Jessica remains hopeful regarding her relationship with Eric post-separation. “I don’t know why my heart gets tossed around, but I’m one of the lucky ones,” she said fondly. “At least I have my children and I still have Eric. He’s still very much a part of my life and will always be.”

Reports indicate that Jessica and Eric continue to co-parent their three kids while she pours her heart into creating her EP, which features five songs infused with soul and rockabilly vibes. “Discovering this music is something I did on my own,” she explained, expressing her gratitude for Nashville. “It was just a way of me owning myself and declaring it.”

From her early pop hits, including her second album Irresistible, to the country soundscape of her sixth album Do You Know, Jessica has evolved significantly throughout her career. “I am a woman now, and I can do what I want, and to have freedom in music—that’s what you’re going to feel in Nashville Canyon.”

Here’s to a bold new chapter for Jessica.
