Lennox Lewis Open to Tyson Rematch If He Defeats Jake Paul

Lennox Lewis Might Consider a Rematch with Mike Tyson If He Defeats Jake Paul

In a recent conversation, Lennox Lewis expressed intrigue about a potential rematch with Mike Tyson, conditional on Tyson’s performance against Jake Paul. As Tyson prepares for his clash with the 27-year-old Paul in November, Lewis, who spoke while promoting his new vodka brand in New York City, stated that the fight will hinge on Tyson’s agility and experience in the ring.

The heavyweight legend, now 58, is no stranger to high-stakes bouts. Lewis, who hasn’t fought since 2003, recalls their famed encounter from 2002, marked by intense build-up, including a chaotic press conference and the presence of star-studded guests like Denzel Washington and Michael Jordan. Lewis overcame Tyson in their bout, winning by knockout in the eighth round and earning a hefty purse of $17.5 million.

Reflecting on Tyson’s upcoming event, Lewis commented, “If he’s in good shape he should be able to take it.” Should Tyson emerge victorious, Lewis is open to revisiting their historic rivalry. In early 2021, he hinted at the possibility of a fight, and although plans for a showdown later that year fizzled out, he now sounds enthusiastic about the idea, exclaiming, “C’mon baby! Let’s have it!”

Lewis’s record stands at 41 wins, 2 losses, and 32 knockouts, putting him in a strong position should he entertain a return to the ring. As the boxing world watches closely, the anticipation builds around whether we might see Lewis and Tyson face off once more.
