Liam Payne’s psychiatrist reportedly discontinued treatment for the One Direction star just weeks before his tragic passing. In a shocking revelation, it has been disclosed that the medical professional advised Payne he required a “higher level of care” due to his escalating issues.
Sources indicate that the singer succumbed to a drug-related fall from a balcony in October. In a letter made public, the psychiatrist expressed concern for the 31-year-old’s well-being, stating that he needed more specialized care than what she could provide, while encouraging him to continue seeking assistance.
The doctor highlighted the importance of adhering strictly to prescribed medications and cautioned against heavy drinking while on those meds. Furthermore, she recommended that Payne attend weekly therapy sessions and consult his primary care physician for further evaluation and testing.
In addition to these suggestions, the psychiatrist emphasized the necessity of addressing his depression and trauma through therapy, considering it crucial for his mental health. She also offered resources for rehabilitation facilities and medical care options.
Following Payne’s untimely death, five individuals were arrested in connection with the incident. This includes charges of manslaughter against the hotel manager and the chief receptionist at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where Payne had been staying. His friend Roger Nores also faces charges for leaving Payne alone shortly before the fatal incident, and two hotel employees were apprehended for allegedly supplying him with narcotics.
Toxicology reports revealed a troubling mix of substances in Payne’s system at the time of his death, including a combination of ketamine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, and more. Eyewitnesses reported erratic behavior from Payne just before his fall, igniting further concerns about his mental and physical state in the lead-up to the tragedy.
Payne was pronounced dead after being found in the courtyard below the third-floor balcony of the hotel, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his final hours.
