Macaulay Culkin Made a Lasting Impression Outside the ‘Home Alone’ House, Say Former Owners
The iconic house that starred in the beloved film Home Alone has become a true landmark for fans. Recently, however, revelations surfaced about an unexpected souvenir left by Macaulay Culkin during filming. Now 44 years old, the actor was just a child when he took on the role of Kevin McCallister in the 1990 classic, the first installment in a series that would go on to capture hearts.
In a new documentary titled The House From…, insights from the Aberdshein family, the home’s former owners, shed light on a curious incident. While preparing for the Christmas scenes, Culkin ended up cutting down a real tree in the backyard. Lauren Aberdshein recounted a memorable moment from the film’s premiere. “My parents were watching and saw a scene where Kevin goes outside to cut a Christmas tree. They thought, ‘Wow, that looks so realistic.’ It turned out to be very real,” she shared.
Surprisingly, after the movie, the family returned home only to discover their actual tree had been cut in half. “The tree that you see in the film, the one Kevin cuts down—was our real tree. It was quite the shock,” she explained.
As excitement builds among Home Alone enthusiasts, Macaulay Culkin is set to embark on a tour soon, offering fans an opportunity to dive deeper into the film series. Stay tuned for tour dates and ticket information.
