Strictly Come Dancing alum Paul Merson is facing a tough battle with his health, as he reveals he’s in significant pain and is having difficulty even making it to the shops. The football legend found himself eliminated from the popular dance competition last Sunday after receiving a meager score of 19 from the judges for his Samba performance to the classic Car Wash by Rose Royce. Despite putting in the effort alongside his partner Karen Hauer, they faced stiff competition from JB Gill and Amy Dowden, leading to their exit from the show.
In a candid moment on Sky Sports’ Soccer Special, Paul shared insights about his challenging experience following his time on the dance floor. He expressed gratitude towards Sky for allowing him to participate in the competition, saying, “It was an amazing experience and I loved every minute. I think it was probably the right time for me to leave.”
Julian Warren probed further into his struggles, asking if his body was sending warning signs. Paul nodded, mentioning that his knee had become an issue, along with soreness in his ankle. Reflecting on his progress, he noted, “I’ve learned how to dance and I feel much more confident now. I could easily hit the dance floor with anyone at this point.”
Recently, Paul took to social media to thank his supporters who cheered him on during the show. He shared that he has been relying heavily on CBD oil to manage his pain, admitting that he forgot to take it one morning and suffered because of it. “I was struggling just to walk, and then realized I hadn’t taken my CBD oil. Dancing every day has been rough without it,” he stated.
As Paul’s journey on Strictly Come Dancing has concluded, he acknowledges it was likely for the best, given his physical condition. Despite his exit, fans will undoubtedly miss seeing Paul light up the stage.
