Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy share what they’ve gained from their journey on Dancing With the Stars, as their partnership came to a close in season 33 during the episode aired on October 22. In an exclusive conversation, the duo opened up about the valuable insights they took away from the experience. Parks, 50, expressed her newfound trust in partners, highlighting how essential it is to rely on one another in couple dancing. She praised Chmerkovskiy for being a supportive partner who helped her step out of her mind and onto the dance floor.
Meanwhile, for Chmerkovskiy, 38, this was his 20th season competing on the show. With a title of 14-time U.S. National Latin Dance champion, he has conquered much of the dancing realm. However, he revealed that Parks taught him crucial lessons about the entertainment industry’s business side. “She emphasized the importance of thoroughly reviewing contracts and ensuring everything is properly outlined,” he stated. “Phaedra showed me that you should never confine yourself, even when you feel you’ve mastered something.”
Parks is not just a familiar face on The Real Housewives of Atlanta; she is also a devoted mother and has branched into competitive reality shows like DWTS and The Traitors. Her background spans over two decades in law, alongside her unique venture as a mortician. Chmerkovskiy remarked on the inspiring work ethic Parks showcases. “You can achieve whatever you aim for,” he noted. “Balancing family, a successful career, and even multiple businesses while being featured on television is truly remarkable.”
Chmerkovskiy also recognized the hard work that underpins Parks’ confident demeanor. He asserted that many might think she effortlessly possesses self-belief, but he pointed out that her confidence stems from dedication and effort daily.
