Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter Chelsea Faces Custody Battle After Child Neglect Arrest

In a troubling turn of events, Chelsea Belle, daughter of comedian Rosie O’Donnell, has found herself embroiled in legal challenges following her recent arrest for child neglect. Jacob Bourassa, the father of her three daughters, has swiftly responded by seeking a modification of their existing custody arrangement, which he was granted in 2019.

In a motion filed with the court, Bourassa cited significant changes in circumstances that he claims pose risks to their children’s well-being. His attorney expressed concerns over the current custodial situation, underscoring that it could be detrimental both physically and emotionally to the minors involved. The filing explicitly calls for the revocation of Belle’s unsupervised visitation rights, indicating a drastic shift in the family’s dynamics after the incident.

Belle, 27, recently faced two arrests in quick succession. During a police response to a domestic disturbance, authorities discovered the condition of her home was alarming—filled with garbage and found to contain drugs. The situation escalated when Child Protective Services intervened after discovering her infant son, Atlas, surrounded by drug paraphernalia.

Belle faces serious charges including maintaining a drug trafficking place and child neglect, along with several other drug-related offenses. Though she was temporarily released on bond following her first arrest, she was apprehended once more shortly after for meth possession during a traffic stop.

Rosie O’Donnell, who adopted Chelsea when she was a baby, took to Instagram to address the situation. Sharing a more positive photo of Chelsea, O’Donnell lamented the continuing struggles her daughter faces, revealing that Chelsea has battled drug addiction for a decade. She expressed hope for Chelsea’s recovery from what she referred to as a “deadly disease,” reflecting on a complicated family history intertwined with mental health challenges.

As the legal proceedings unfold, a hearing is scheduled for November, where the court will address Bourassa’s request for primary custody. The stakes continue to rise for Chelsea Belle and her family amidst this tumultuous time.
