Sean “Diddy” Combs has decided to stop inviting Princes William and Harry to his notorious parties, citing a rather surprising reason—he believes they have outgrown their party days. In a recent revelation, it was shared that Diddy, at the age of 54, thought the royal brothers were too mature for the wild bashes, despite the fact they were in their twenties at the time he sent out invitations.

This insight comes from Christopher Andersen, a biographer who pointed out that Diddy previously sought to draw the young royals into his infamous gatherings when they were at their peak of youthful indiscretion. Diddy noted in a 2011 interview that he anticipated the brothers would be eager to let loose. “I wanted them at my parties when they were young bucks getting into trouble themselves,” he reportedly said.

Andersen disclosed that both William and Harry were regulars on London’s party scene before they settled into their current roles, implying that they might have been inclined to attend Diddy’s events during their more carefree phases. However, after William engaged to Kate Middleton in 2010, it became clear that the invites weren’t being met with enthusiasm, and Diddy got the hint, stopping the invitations altogether.

In fact, Diddy confirmed during a 2011 appearance on The Graham Norton Show that the princes were off his guest list, assuring Norton, “Trust me, they’re off the list.” This statement came amid lighthearted banter about the potential disruption the music mogul could cause during the royal wedding.

Diddy first crossed paths with the princes back in 2007, when he performed at a tribute for their mother, Princess Diana. Over the years, he has amassed quite a reputation for hosting lavish parties that have attracted numerous celebrities, although some have distanced themselves from him in light of various allegations that have emerged against him.

In recent events, Diddy faced serious legal repercussions, including charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking. A raid on his property allegedly uncovered a vast amount of lubricant and baby oil thought to have been used during his parties. As for Prince William and Prince Harry, it seems they sidestepped a risky social scene, thanks to the guidance of their royal advisors, and according to Andersen, they’ve managed to “dodge a bullet” by avoiding Diddy’s wild gatherings.
