Steve Schirripa, best known for his roles in The Sopranos and Blue Bloods, has jumped into the Hallmark world with his latest film, Sisterhood, Inc. In an interview, he shared his excitement about this new venture, emphasizing that it was a long-held aspiration to be part of a Hallmark production. Schirripa stated, “How many guys can go from The Sopranos to Hallmark? But I made the jump and I was very happy and I had a wonderful time.”
The movie, which is set to premiere on February 22 at 8 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel, was filmed in the Albany area and centers around themes of family and romance. Schirripa expressed that the experience was refreshing, contrasting sharply with his previous intense roles in crime dramas. He noted, “No arguing, no killing, no nothing. I killed more people as a cop than I did as a mobster.”
Sisterhood, Inc. features a talented cast that includes Rachael Leigh Cook and Daniella Monet, and tells the story of corporate executive Megan as she tries to improve her younger sister’s chaotic life, all while discovering romance with a psychology professor. Reflecting on his Hallmark experience, Schirripa stated that working on such a lighthearted film was a pleasant change of pace, saying it had a nice vibe and was a mood booster.
Having completed his run on Blue Bloods after 14 successful seasons, where he portrayed Anthony Abetemarco, Schirripa shared fond memories of working with esteemed co-stars like Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg. He expressed the bond he formed with the cast, highlighting the familial atmosphere on set, which contrasted with expectations set by other productions.
Sisterhood, Inc. marks a new chapter for Schirripa, who is eager to explore more opportunities within Hallmark. The actor conveyed his enjoyment of the project, leaving fans eager to catch his transition from gritty crime series to feel-good television.
