Tasha Ghouri Faces Critique from Strictly Pro After Underwhelming Performance
As the latest season of Strictly Come Dancing heats up, Tasha Ghouri has received a wake-up call from a former professional dancer regarding her performances. The Love Island alum, now 26, took the stage last weekend with a Tango to Florence + The Machine’s “Dog Days Are Over,” earning 34 points out of a possible 40 from the judges. However, Brendan Cole, a seasoned Strictly veteran, has expressed that Tasha’s recent performance was “below her normal standard.”
In a conversation with Entertainment Daily, Brendan suggested that Tasha, along with her competitors, needs to elevate her game. He noted, “Most dancers did well, but there was room for improvement across the board. Jamie Borthwick clearly stole the show, showcasing a standout performance, while Tasha, despite performing well, still seemed to lack that extra spark.”
Brendan continued to provide insights on other couples competing, remarking on JB Gill and Amy Dowden’s Jive, which received a respectable 30 points. Yet, their placement in the dance-off against Paul Merson and Karen Hauer raised eyebrows, leading to Paul and Karen’s exit. Brendan pointed out that JB’s routine fell flat due to lackluster choreography. “It appeared overly simplistic, and viewers look for excitement and flair in these dances. Amy needs to step up her choreography to capture the audience’s attention,” he stated.
As Halloween approaches on the show, Tasha is set to perform a samba with her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec to the lively tune of “I Like To Move It Move It.” Meanwhile, JB and Amy are preparing their foxtrot to Toploader’s “Dancing In The Moonlight.” With tensions rising and performances needing that extra bit of excitement, it will be interesting to see who manages to impress the judges and audiences alike this week. Tune in Saturday, October 25, at 6.25 PM on BBC One to catch all the action and see if Tasha can rise to the occasion.
