Taylor Swift Sent a Handwritten Note to Travis Kelce’s Former Teammate

Travis Kelce’s Former Teammate Received a Personal Note from Taylor Swift

In a surprising turn of events, Louis Rees-Zammit, who recently found himself cut from the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster, walked away with a memorable keepsake from none other than Taylor Swift. The young rugby star had joined the Chiefs as he pursued his dream of playing in the NFL but was let go before he could see any action in the regular season.

Rees-Zammit, 23, shared on RugbyPass TV that he received a handwritten note from Swift, who is currently dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “I went to her concert and I got a handwritten note from her,” he revealed. “Pretty crazy.” The Welsh athlete attended Swift’s Eras Tour in Cardiff, Wales, over the summer, where he received well wishes for the upcoming football season.

“This was before training camp,” Rees-Zammit explained, noting the kind sentiments expressed in the letter. “It was like, ‘Good luck for the season, good luck for training camp. Heard you’re doing well.’ Just stuff like that. That was pretty cool.” After his stint with the Chiefs, Rees-Zammit signed onto the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad, where he transitioned from running back to wide receiver. He admitted that while he hasn’t yet been promoted to the active roster, he is prepared for the opportunity.

Discussing his experience with the Chiefs, Rees-Zammit expressed admiration for the culture cultivated by Kelce and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He recalled how welcoming they were, even reaching out to him on Instagram after he signed. “I had a message from both Travis and Patrick welcoming me to the team,” he shared.

The transition to being around these football icons was initially overwhelming for Rees-Zammit. “It was pretty crazy the first time I saw them in person, but then they’re your teammates,” he reflected. “I got used to it pretty quick. We built connections. We did stuff off the field. That’s what the Chiefs are very good at, the bonding off the field.”

Rees-Zammit emphasized their humility despite their fame, stating, “They’re just normal people. They’re so humble. You see all this stuff in the media, how big they are. But they are the most humble people that I’ve ever met.”

With his focus now on the Jaguars, Rees-Zammit is determined to prove himself. “I’m learning quick and I’m working hard every single day,” he noted, showing progress and tenacity that has impressed the team’s offensive coordinator. As he continues to adapt to a new sport at a professional level, all eyes are on this talented athlete as he strives for greatness in the NFL.
