Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney are challenging a disgruntled Hollywood chef’s lawsuit concerning their troubled sandwich shop.
Sydtomarket.net has exclusively obtained court documents showing that the “Vanderpump Rules” stars are rejecting every claim made by their former associate, Penny Davidi, arguing that her allegations are based on “hypothetical facts.”
Davidi, who has made brief appearances on the Bravo show, accuses Madix and Maloney of ghosting her after allegedly agreeing to make her the chief operating officer (COO) of their business in exchange for a 10% ownership stake.
In her complaint, Davidi claims that the trio formed a partnership in June 2023 to jointly run the West Hollywood eatery, Something About Her. According to the lawsuit, Madix and Maloney were supposed to pay Davidi $7,500 in monthly management fees, which would increase to $10,000 per month starting in 2024. Davidi asserts that these payments were meant to continue throughout their partnership, which she described as “perpetual.”
As COO/Director of Culinary, Davidi was to oversee culinary and restaurant operations and manage various aspects of the partnership. She claims that despite putting in significant work, Madix and Maloney failed to honor the agreement and is asking the court to enforce the alleged terms.
Madix and Maloney responded by requesting that the lawsuit be dismissed, arguing that it is based on hypothetical scenarios and does not present a valid legal controversy. Their lawyers contend that Davidi’s claims are invalid due to the delay in filing and the informal nature of the supposed agreement, which would have allowed the women to change their minds.
Davidi, however, maintains that the agreement was confirmed through oral discussions, implied conduct, and various recordings. She also claims that “countless witnesses” can attest to the deal and her rights to the restaurant and related intellectual property.
Davidi, who contributed to the creation of the “Greek Goddess” sandwich—later renamed “The Meg”—has criticized the restaurant’s current offerings and expressed skepticism about its long-term success, given the owners’ lack of restaurant experience. She believes that fans will eventually notice the shop’s shortcomings and that it may struggle to sustain itself.
