Zendaya Describes Stressful Dancing With The Stars Appearance

Zendaya Explains Why She Doesn’t Tune In to Dancing With The Stars

Zendaya, the immensely talented actress and singer, recently opened up about her experiences with Dancing With The Stars, a show that holds a nostalgic place in her heart—yet she doesn’t watch it. During a candid chat on Entertainment Weekly’s Awardist podcast, the 28-year-old star reminisced about her journey on the famed dance competition, which took place back in 2013.

Competing alongside professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, Zendaya made quite an impression, finishing as the runner-up behind the eventual winner, Kellie Pickler. However, despite her notable participation, Zendaya revealed that she has not kept up with the show post-competition.

Laughing off the subject, she admitted, “I haven’t watched Dancing With The Stars since I participated in it. In truth, I didn’t really follow the show even before my involvement.” She elaborated that the show might not cater to her tastes, saying, “I don’t believe I was in the target audience. My grandma is the fan; that’s her thing.”

Furthermore, Zendaya spoke about the pressures she faced during her stint on the show, which ultimately shaped her decision to step back from watching it altogether. “It was quite a stressful experience for me, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I probably won’t watch it any longer,” she confided.

It seems that while she has fond memories of her time on the show, the demands of reality television didn’t align with her current interests. Her perspective offers a relatable take on how personal experiences can redefine our engagement with entertainment. For those curious to hear more about Zendaya’s reflections, her full interview is available for listening.
