Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have once again raised eyebrows with their on-again, off-again stance on marriage, leaving family and friends bewildered. “Their loved ones are fed up with the back and forth and wish they would either make a decision or just stop discussing it altogether,” an insider revealed to Closer Weekly. Goldie, at 78, and Kurt, 73, first crossed paths on the set of the 1968 movie The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. It wasn’t until the mid-1980s, while working together on Swing Shift, that their relationship took a romantic turn.

Despite welcoming a son, Wyatt Russell, in 1986, Goldie and Kurt opted not to tie the knot. Goldie has previously remarked that “marriage didn’t work for either one of us.” She expressed that she sees no pressing need to marry again, suggesting that the institution has become somewhat commercialized. However, in what seems to be a shift, Kurt has noted that discussions about marriage have started to arise more frequently between them.

Though they appeared aligned on the idea of walking down the aisle, it seems that “cold feet” have interfered yet again. Goldie has shared her concern that tying the knot could disrupt the passionate connection they share. She has candidly mentioned that maintaining a vibrant sex life is crucial to their relationship, and fears marriage could jeopardize that.

Friends and family have started to feel the tension whenever marriage becomes a topic. The source shared, “When they appear to be ready to take the plunge, everyone gets excited, wedding planners start to make suggestions, and then they backtrack, saying, ‘Forget it.’” There’s an implication that Goldie and Kurt somewhat enjoy the spotlight that comes with this constant toggling of commitment, but their children would rather spend their time on more engaging pursuits than planning a wedding that might never happen.

While Goldie and Kurt remain deeply in love, they are not without their differences. Recently, Goldie admitted in an interview that they have divergent political views. She emphasized that their love for their family overshadows these disagreements, stating, “The greatest joy we have is our family, and that is what we concentrate on.”

Together, they share a blended family with Goldie’s children from her prior marriage to Bill Hudson, Oliver and Kate Hudson, and Kurt’s son from his previous marriage to Season Hubley, Boston Russell. As grandparents to eight grandchildren, their family ties continue to strengthen despite any uncertainties about their marital status.

In a world where many pairings struggle, Goldie and Kurt’s enduring bond speaks volumes, even if they’re not rushing to formalize it through marriage. Their story remains a testament to love that defies conventional definitions, thriving in its unique form.
