In a surprising revelation, actress Eva Mendes has declared an internet ban for her children, taking a strong stance on their digital safety. The 50-year-old, married to 43-year-old Ryan Gosling, expressed her fears about the potential dangers lurking online, comparing the act of allowing her daughters to access the web to letting them wander the streets alone at night.

Mendes revealed her rational behind this decision during an interview, sharing, “Putting my kid on the internet and saying, ‘Go ahead, search for something,’ feels like telling her to stroll down the street in the middle of the night. It’s extreme, but that’s how I feel.”

The couple shares two daughters—Esmeralda, 10, and Amada, 8—and both Mendes and Gosling are dedicated to providing a secure and grounded upbringing. Mendes elaborated on her efforts to maintain their self-esteem by assigning them household tasks, saying she is mindful of the potential anxieties she might unintentionally pass on to them.

“I still have all this anxiety, and I worry about what they may inherit from me without my intent,” she admitted. Reflecting on her own upbringing, Mendes credited her late brother Juan Carlos for keeping her in line. “He instilled a healthy fear in me about getting into trouble. That fear kept me on the straight path.”

The actress, who hasn’t been in the public eye as much lately, also expressed her feelings of sexuality in her 50s, attributing a lot of that confidence to Gosling’s perception of her. “There are moments when I feel incredibly sexy,” Mendes shared. “The way my man looks at me really boosts my self-image.”

Although Mendes has taken a step back from acting over the years, she hinted that she might consider a return—especially if it meant collaborating with her husband. “I never had a deep love for acting. I had my moments and worked with fantastic talent. But if there’s an opportunity to act alongside Ryan again, that’s something I would definitely be interested in.”

Mendes also candidly discussed her pride in the projects she’s done with Gosling, citing their unique connection as an asset to her performances. “He draws out something in me that’s usually not accessible,” she said, underscoring the chemistry they share both on and off the screen.
