Stevie Nicks Envisions Season 2 for Daisy Jones and the Six

In an exciting twist for fans of Daisy Jones and the Six, Stevie Nicks has shared her vision for a potential second season of the hit series. The 76-year-old music icon recently pitched her idea to executive producer Reese Witherspoon as well as star Riley Keough. The show, inspired by Nicks’ own legendary band Fleetwood Mac and the tumultuous making of their acclaimed 1977 album Rumours, captivated audiences when it premiered on Prime Video.

Originally conceived as a limited series, the first season concluded with Nicks-inspired character Daisy Jones, played by Keough, and her counterpart Billy Dunne, portrayed by Sam Claflin, parting ways at the peak of their band’s success. Despite their undeniable chemistry, romantic circumstances drew them apart. However, in a surprising finale, Billy’s wife Camila (played by Camila Morrone) encouraged him to reconnect with Daisy, leaving viewers with a tantalizing cliffhanger.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Nicks expressed her hope that Season 2 could explore a different narrative: “What if… Billy came back after his wife’s passing and knocked on her door? They could decide to create that last record I always imagined Lindsey [Buckingham] and I would make.” Nicks believes this direction could provide a compelling storyline for the next chapter.

While discussing her pitch with Witherspoon and Keough, Nicks noted that the project is on hold due to their busy schedules, especially with Keough’s rising stardom. “They loved the idea, but everyone’s so tied up,” she acknowledged. “Until I watched Daisy Jones and the Six, I never thought it would be possible to reflect our lives in a show.”

Interestingly, Nicks admitted she was initially hesitant to watch the series, fearing she might dislike it. However, while recovering from COVID-19, she decided to give it a chance. Reflecting on the experience, she remarked, “As I watched, I couldn’t help but feel like I was witnessing my own life unfold.”

Throughout her reflections, Nicks drew comparisons between her real-life experiences and the on-screen portrayal of her character. “Riley doesn’t resemble me physically; she has a snappier persona. I couldn’t be as sharp-tongued as her,” Nicks shared, hinting at the distinct personalities within Fleetwood Mac. In contrast, she appreciated the resemblance between Keough’s portrayal and her own essence, expressing a desire to connect with the actress.

Moreover, Nicks praised the performances of Suki Waterhouse as the Christine McVie-inspired Karen Sirko and Claflin’s embodiment of Billy. “Suki was a perfect fit as Christine with her stylish appearance, and Billy was remarkable in capturing Lindsey’s spirit,” she commented.

As the conversation surrounding a possible second season of Daisy Jones and the Six continues, fans can only hope that Nicks’ vision comes to life on screen. With creative minds like hers backing the project, the opportunity for more captivating storytelling awaits.
