Brian Cashman Gives Green Light for TMZ Photographer to Drive Giancarlo Stanton Again After 2015 Memorable Trip
In a surprising twist, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has given his seal of approval for TMZ photographer Charlie Cotton to once again play the role of Giancarlo Stanton’s personal chauffeur. This comes as the Yankees prepare to clash with the Dodgers in the World Series.
The story dates back to nearly a decade ago when Stanton, who was then with the Miami Marlins, missed a flight at LAX. With some unexpected free time, Cotton decided to reach out to the All-Star outfielder. To everyone’s amazement, Stanton agreed to hop into Cotton’s old car and co-host an episode of “TMZ Sports.” The two drove around, sharing laughs, and Stanton arrived safe and sound while clearly enjoying the experience.
Now, as Stanton is back in Los Angeles for the Fall Classic, Cotton approached Cashman at LAX to see if he could repeat the adventure. To Cotton’s delight, Cashman approved, saying, “You got him where he needed to go safe and sound, so why not?”
While the chances of a rehash during the ongoing championship series seem slim, Cashman did suggest that if Stanton finds himself in need of transport, Cotton would surely be a dependable choice. “If it was good enough for Big G, then I’m sure he’d be in good hands,” Cashman added with a wink.
For now, there’s been no confirmation of another road trip, but fans can only wonder if Stanton will take Cashman up on the offer. Cotton’s first experience earned him glowing praise from Cashman. Five stars all around to the creative duo!
