Travis Kelce Joins Forces With Jason Kelce and Boyz II Men for Holiday Album
Travis Kelce is making a splash this holiday season alongside his brother Jason Kelce and the iconic R&B group Boyz II Men. The trio has teamed up for a festive track titled “It’s Christmas Time (In Cleveland Heights),” featured on the upcoming album A Philly Special Christmas Party. Released on November 1, the song showcases both Travis and Jason’s impressive vocal talents.
In a heartfelt introduction to the song, Travis, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, expresses a sentiment of nostalgia: “This is a shout-out to everyone all around the world who’s thinking about home this Christmas.” He adds his signature catchphrase before diving into the first verse, declaring, “That’s right, it’s Christmastime. Alright nah.”
The inspiration for this seasonal anthem stems from the siblings’ popular podcast, “New Heights.” Recently, social media buzzed with a clip showing Jason in the studio with musician Charlie Hall and other talented artists discussing the creative process behind the song. Hall remarked on how the unique sound came together, stating, “This is a song that came out of this great brain and I feel like it tickles the nerve that we’ve not yet done.”
A Philly Special Christmas Party marks the third holiday-themed album from Jason, who collaborates with fellow Philadelphia Eagles alumni Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. The inaugural album, A Philly Special Christmas, was released in 2022, with all proceeds directed toward local charitable initiatives. The following year saw the release of A Philly Special Christmas Special, which featured Travis on the playful rendition of the Pogues’ classic “Fairytale of New York.”
Reflecting on their dynamic, Jason describes the relationship with his brother as a mix of rivalry and affection. He summarizes the essence of their bond, stating, “It’s like two people fighting, but then they really love each other. It kind of works really good for our relationship.”
In other exciting news, Jason has also announced a collaboration with rock legend Stevie Nicks for a future holiday-themed project. As anticipation builds for these festive offerings, Travis humorously noted that he was unsure of his vocal prowess when they first embarked on this musical journey. However, the song managed to ascend to No. 1 on iTunes, largely credited to the enthusiastic support from Taylor Swift’s passionate fanbase. He remarked on a podcast episode how they were now undoubtedly “rock stars,” giving a nod to the Swifties for their incredible influence in the music scene.
With the holiday season officially underway, Travis Kelce and his brother Jason continue to bring their signature charm and humor to the music world, crafting a festive atmosphere that resonates with fans everywhere.
