Christina Applegate Opens Up About Daily Struggles with MS Pains

In a candid moment on her podcast “MeSsy,” Christina Applegate revealed the difficult reality of living with Multiple Sclerosis. Joined by cohost Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also deals with the autoimmune condition, Applegate shared that she experiences severe, sharp pains every day.

“I lay in bed screaming,” Applegate disclosed in the November 5 episode, explaining how different people experience the symptoms of MS. She described the pain as a combination of sharpness, aches, and squeezing sensations that affect her daily activities. “Sometimes I can’t pick up my phone or even a TV remote,” she noted, emphasizing how the disease impacts her hands.

Diagnosed with MS in 2021, Applegate has not shied away from discussing her health struggles. Earlier this year, she recalled an MS relapse and revealed the toll it took on her personal hygiene. “I haven’t taken a shower in three weeks,” she said on the April 2 episode of “MeSsy.” Applegate candidly admitted that standing in the shower has become impossible due to her condition.

While the challenges have been immense, there have been glimmers of hope. Applegate shared how a recent family vacation in the Netherlands and Paris brought unexpected progress. “I couldn’t believe it. One week I was walking without my cane which I hadn’t done in two years,” she reflected.

Applegate’s openness has helped illuminate the struggles faced by many living with chronic illnesses. She recognized the difficulty of her journey while also expressing gratitude for the support she has received from the MS community.

Her story is resonating not just among fans, but also for those who face similar health battles, underscoring the importance of sharing personal experiences in raising awareness around Multiple Sclerosis.
