Release Date for ‘Wicked Part 2’ Revealed!

Wicked Part 2 Release Date Unveiled

With the first installment of Wicked now screening in theaters, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Wicked Part Two. Universal Pictures and director Jon M. Chu chose to split the beloved story into two films instead of compressing it into one shorter version. In April 2022, Chu shared, “As we prepared the production over the last year, it became impossible to condense the story of Wicked into a single film without making significant sacrifices. As we considered cutting songs or reducing characters, these choices felt like detrimental compromises to the source material that has captivated audiences for years. We opted for a larger canvas, allowing us to create not just one, but two Wicked films. This approach grants us the opportunity to portray the story as it deserves while enriching the characters’ journeys.”

The Broadway musical runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes, which is shorter than the first part of the film, clocking in at 2 hours and 40 minutes. While the runtime for Part Two remains undisclosed, we do have a confirmed release date: Wicked Part Two will hit theaters on November 21, 2025—just one year from now.

Fans can also look forward to several iconic songs in Part Two, including “No Good Deed,” “As Long As You’re Mine,” and “For Good.” Additionally, composer Stephen Schwartz has crafted two new songs specifically for the sequel. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to delve into the enchanting world of Wicked.
