Alan Hamel Reflects on the Deep Bond He Shared With Suzanne Somers

As the first anniversary of Suzanne Somers’ passing approaches, her husband of 46 years, Alan Hamel, opens up about the intense love and connection they shared. At 88 years old, Alan reminisces fondly about their life together, revealing how much he misses her presence. “We hugged constantly,” he recalls, adding, “We would fall asleep each night hand in hand, and I would wake up just a few minutes before her, lying there and admiring her beautiful face.”

The couple’s journey began in 1969 when they met on the set of “The Anniversary Game,” where Suzanne was a prize model and Alan hosted the show. Alan vividly remembers the moment he laid eyes on Suzanne, describing her as the most remarkable woman he had ever seen.

Like many couples, Alan and Suzanne faced their share of arguments throughout their marriage. However, Alan emphasizes that their passionate love always prevailed over any disagreements. He recounts a moment after a dispute when Suzanne looked him in the eye and said, “No matter how bad it gets, let’s never break up.” That promise was one they held dear, and their bond remained unbroken until her death.

Alan’s heartfelt memories serve as a testament to a love that endured through thick and thin, showcasing a relationship filled with warmth, affection, and an unwavering commitment to each other.
