Brad Pitt’s Ongoing Struggle to Regain Custody of Kids After Private Plane Dispute with Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt’s Ongoing Struggle to Reconnect with His Kids Amid Ongoing Divorce Clash with Angelina Jolie

In the years following his split from Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has been engaged in a challenging custody struggle that has only intensified over time. After their infamous altercation on a private plane in 2016, which led to Jolie filing for divorce, Pitt’s connection with his children began to deteriorate amid allegations of abuse, which he has consistently denied.

According to insiders, Pitt’s emotional turmoil has been compounded by Jolie’s plans to move abroad as the contentious divorce saga continues. Sources reveal that since their breakup eight years ago, Pitt’s relationship with his children has remained strained, stating, “It’s been very hard for him, but Brad is committed to fighting for his family.”

With the holiday season upon them, Pitt is reportedly holding out hope for a “Christmas miracle.” He has been making continual efforts to reach out to his children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne—expressing his love and longing for their reconciliation.

For more than eight years, Pitt has shown remarkable patience. Following his split with Jolie, he took time to reflect and sought therapy, quit drinking, and attempted to mend his relationship with his children. However, the reality is that many of them have distanced themselves from him, with the visitation process feeling forced and clinical at times.

In a silver lining, Pitt was awarded joint custody after a lengthy trial in 2021. Unfortunately, this victory was short-lived as Jolie successfully had the judge disqualified over a procedural issue, which left Pitt feeling defeated once again. “His behavior and the divorce have caused so much pain for everyone involved. He is still trying to heal that,” said the source.

The older children have become particularly estranged. Notably, Pax and Maddox have been vocal about their desire to cut ties with Pitt, and Pax went so far as to label him a “world-class a–hole” in a 2020 social media post. Shiloh, once very close to her father, has also begun to distance herself, even dropping Pitt from her surname.

As Pitt grapples with the reality of losing meaningful relationships with his children, Jolie has made it clear that she is eagerly anticipating her freedom once the twins turn 18. “I am here because I have to be here, but once they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave,” she has stated.

Time is running out for Pitt to make amends, particularly with the twins, who are nearing adulthood. Insiders suggest that while there may still be a chance for reconciliation, especially if the children choose to forge their own paths away from Jolie’s influence, the road ahead is fraught with uncertainty.

Pitt remains hopeful, recalling the tumultuous relationship Jolie had with her own father, Jon Voight, and expressing a desire for the opportunity to repair his own familial ties. “He will never give up hope,” reported a source close to the actor.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Pitt and his children amid the backdrop of their parents’ ongoing battle.
