Chris McCausland reacts to Toyah Willcox drama: “I can’t believe I’ve got to comment on this”

In a surprising turn of events, Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland found himself addressing comments made by Toyah Willcox during a live segment of It Takes Two on October 10. The week’s earlier comments from Toyah, which many perceived as a slight against Chris, stirred up quite a bit of conversation. She had quipped during the show, “If you don’t wanna do a dance-off, get rid of Chris,” only to later declare her admiration for him on social media, calling him her “favourite to win.”

When Janette Manrara, host of It Takes Two, prompted Chris to discuss the situation on air, he seemed taken aback. “Chris, before we get into your fantastic jive, I want to set the record straight,” Janette said, referring to his Wayne’s World-themed performance. “Toyah mentioned you as the one to beat, yet some people misread her comments. Just to clarify, everything is good between you and Toyah, right?”

“Absolutely, we’re all good,” Chris responded, admitting he hadn’t seen Toyah’s remarks because he consciously avoids watching more Strictly content. “I can’t believe I even have to comment on this,” he added, chuckling. “She’s been nothing but wonderful. When she left, she told me, ‘You’re gonna win this.’ It’s sweet of her to think that, even if it is a tad crazy.”

Anticipating the media’s interpretation, Chris humorously predicted, “Tomorrow, the headlines will read, ‘Chris McCausland thinks Toyah Willcox is insane.’”

Janette appeared satisfied with Chris’s response but took a light-hearted jab at him for not tuning into her show. “I’m glad to hear you’re alright, even if you don’t watch It Takes Two,” she remarked. In a show of good humor, Chris assured her, “I’ll start watching, I promise.”

As for the latest episodes of Strictly Come Dancing, it seems the drama continues both on and off the dance floor, captivating audiences and keeping the conversation alive.
